PROGRAMME
Shenanigans with Waldane
Room 1 · 12:30-13:45
Waldane, our hostex with the mostex, will be leading us through a series of shenanigans and hijinks. Prepare yourself for ‘Speedfriending’ and ‘Grab Dat Bob!’. Let’s get to know each other playfully :)
Bio: Add a tablespoon of curiosity, a cup of ridiculous, teaspoon of oddity, a dash of wit, a pinch of sarcasm and a sprinkle of sass, with a whole lot of joy and a bunch of other stuff and you get Waldane Walker (he/they), a non-binary queer artist who prides transformation through their artistry.
Fugitivity, Refusal, Utopianism
Room 1 · 14:00-14:30
Jennifer will hold a presentation on an ongoing project exploring the concepts of fugitivity, refusal and utopianism. Concepts which reflect the ways many Black people (especially those who are women and/or queer) navigate existence. The adoption of fugitivity, refusal and utopianism can be liberatory, and a way to bring visibility and acknowledgment to our own lives.
Bio: Jennifer Durruthy Viken (she/her) is Norwegian-Cuban, grown up in Oslo, and a social anthropology student working on topics like racialization, embodiment and queerness.
Reclaiming Rest: A Meditative Offering
Room 2 · 13:15-15:15
In a world that profits from our hustle, reclaiming rest is an act of defiance." — Tricia Hersey
Come lie down, family. Let your bones touch the earth and your breath return to rhythm. Join us in collective stillness, intentional breath, and vibrations. Close your eyes as spoken word and grounding meditative text flow through the space, weaving with live cello vibrations that move through your body. This blend of sound and voice works to slow your breath, calm your nervous system, and create a moment of deep, intentional rest. Bring a water bottle and a yoga mat/pillow/blanket, bring your whole self — exactly as you are.
Bio: Diaspora Kollektiv aims to create a future Norway where BIPoCQT creators and artists can cultivate an archive through creative gatherings with an emphasis on collective care and recognition. We aim to facilitate an inclusive cultural discourse that engages local Norwegian BIPoCQT communities in reimagining and reshaping dominant social narratives.
Non-Monogamy Fishbowl
Room 1 · 14:45-15:45
Tumi will host a fishbowl style conversation about being Black and queer and navigating non-monogamy. The intent of the conversation is to bring focus to the often overlooked experience of polyamory as queer people living in the diaspora, giving a chance to share perspectives and lessons learned. The fishbowl will start with three initial conversationalists to get the conversation rolling. People joining the session will leave with a poly resource toolkit.
Bio: Tumi Sineke (she/her) is a black queer facilitator and program manager based in Oslo, with roots from South Africa. Her work sits at the intersection of inclusion and equity. Her curiosity is about intersections, and specifically, how people and places come together to create meaning for themselves and their communities.
Space for trans women/femmes
Room 2 · 15:30-17:00
Yancé-Myah will host a separatist space for Black trans femmes/women to talk about medical self-defence, HRT, experiences and questions around transitioning, and navigating transmisogynoir in Scandilandia.
Bio: Yancé-Myah (she/her) is a black caribbean trans woman based in Copenhagen. She has been part of organising various community and neighbourhood based collectives and movements - including Nørrebro Pride and Cutie.BIPoC Festival. In her daily life, she works in a sexual health clinic, with social care, and “does the best she can with what she’s got”.
Black Queer Literature
Room 1 · 16:00-16:45
Black queer writers, such as James Baldwin, Audre Lorde, and June Jordan, have been keeping our hearts and minds fed. But they have also been overlooked or had their queerness invisibilised. Ellis will hold a talk about the Black queer literature that has been saving us over and over again.
Bio: Ellis George (they/he) is a 31-year-old Black and queer transmasculine person. He likes to learn stuff and teach other stuff. They also love their friends, family and community.

*Black = you have heritage through at least one parent from any African countries south of the Sahara (such as Sudan, Mali, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa). This includes those in the African diaspora who have multicultural heritages or have been displaced through the transatlantic slave trade or adoption. It does not include descendants of Europeans who migrated to Africa for occupational/colonial reasons
AND
*Queer = your sexuality and/or gender fits within the LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual ++) spectrum.
Black people who are allies or questioning are welcome. Please do not invite non-Black partners or friends.
